What a rout
There really isn't much to say about this series. Colorado was disgustingly undermanned with all the injuries to such key players. For as great a player as Peter Forsberg has been in his career, it just seemed he demoralized them when he said he couldn't play in Game 1. That just set an ugly tone for the Avs the rest of the series. Joe Sakic looked old. Jose Theodore wasn't nearly as good as he'd been in round one. And, brother, did the Wings capitalize. They rarely set back or slacked off. Johan Franzen was on a record-setting role. That secondary scoring that was so needed, materialized. The NHL should have cancelled this series after 2 1/2 games. Just a hunch, but the next round won't be as easy.
