GAme 4 update
This time, the Colorado Avalanche didn't even have to wait. Peter Forsberg (groin), who has been a game-time decision all series, won't play in Game 4 Thursday against the Red Wings. The Wings can sweep Colorado out of the playoffs with a victory Thursday night. The often-injured forward has only played one game, Tuesday's Game 3, and even missed half of the game that evening. Forsberg isn't the only star winger who won't dress for Colorado. Ryan Smyth (foot) and Paul Stasny (knee) are also gone, Smyth getting hurt in Game 2 and Stasny Tuesday night. Oh, and there was star winger Wojtek Wolski (upper body), who was hurt in Game 1 and hasn't played (and won't) since. On the Wings' front: general manager Ken Holland said he is picking up Fabian Brunnstrom at the Denver airport this afternoon, as Brunnstrom, a Swedish unsigned prospect, takes in tonight's Wings' game. Brunnstrom has visited Dallas and intends to visit Montreal this weekend, on a personal scouting trip. Holland also said a contract extension for coach Mike Babcock is far along enough that wrapping the details up after the Wings' season concludes shouldn't take very long.
