Smyth out for Avs; Forsberg, Hannan 'probable'

The situation continues to become grim for the Colorado Avalanche. The Red Wings' opponent in the Western Conference semi-finals will be without forward Ryan Smyth, one of the few Avalanche who have stood out in this series, because of a foot injury. Coach Joel Quenneville said Smyth's return to the line up is day to day. With Smyth out, former Michigan forward T.J. Hensick was expected to enter the Colorado line up for the first time this series. Quenneville also said forward Peter Forsberg (groin) and defenseman Scott Hannan (foot) are "probable" for Tuesday's Game 3. Forsberg has yet to play in this series but skated hard Monday at practice. He didn't participate in Tuesday's morning skate. The Wings lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.
