Bruustrom maybe re-evaluating
Just ran into Ken Holland at breakfast where he said he's heard Swedish prospect Fabian Bruustrom may be reconsidering, or reevaluating, Bruustrom's decision to sign with the Vancouver Canucks. The reason is Vancouver yesterday fired its GM Dave Nonis. Nonis was a key reason behind Bruustrom deciding on the Canucks. Now, that doesn't mean Bruustrom - a Swedish unrestricted free agent - will automatically focus on the Wings, who were believed to be his second choice. Anaheim and Toronto were two teams who also have pursued Bruustrom and will likely make strong pitches again. And, don't totally strike Vancouver out of the picture. The Canucks were apparently the only team willing to guarantee Bruustrom a roster spot for the entire season and the likelihood of playing with the Sedin twins. The Wings promised a one-month look-see at the start of the season and the chance to show the organization he belongs to stay at the NHL level.
