Fabian To Vancouver?
One other note: As those of you who watched CBC's Hotstove panel tonight already are aware, it appears top Swedish free agent forward Fabian Brunnstrom is heading to Vancouver next season.
If true, it's not a big surprise -- as I'd written back at the All-Star break, it was down to 2-3 teams (DET, VAN, TOR) and all were offering the max as far as the entry-level contract and bonuses. Reports out of Vancouver back in February suggested the Canucks were his first choice.
In the end, it was going to come down to where Brunnstrom and his agent felt the best fit would be, and certainly there's more ice time available with the Canucks than there is with the Wings at this point. He'd fit in nicely with the Sedin twins on that second line, perhaps.
