Draper's groin acting up

The Red Wings were hoping to be a healthy team heading into the playoffs but that's not going to be the case. Kris Draper left practice early Tuesday with a tight groin and will miss Wednesday's game in Chicago, and likely the final two games of the regular season. "I can't imagine him playing until the playoffs," coach Mike Babcock said. Draper missed five games early last month with a tight groin. He also was bothered with groin problems last season during the playoffs, and had off-season surgery. "You're always concerned," Babcock said. "It didn't feel good today. He came in here yesterday and said it didn't feel good. He went out (to practice) today and he didn't like the way it felt and he came in early, which is good, we encourage him (to do that), and he'll get it checked out. If nothing is there, nothing is there." Mikael Samuelsson (groin) continues to be out with a similar injury and will miss the game in Chicago. The status of Tomas Holmstrom (abdominal strain) will be determined by the morning skate in Chicago. If Holmstrom doesn't play in Chicago, he'll likely play Thursday against Columbus. The Wings also found out Tuesday Johan Franzen was named third star by the NHL for the month of March. Franzen has 14 goals in his last 13 games.
