Mac is back
Many of you are fans of Darren McCarty. Or at least I gather that from all the pro-McCarty e-mails I get. To those of you who aren't, well, I wish you somehow had an opportunity to take in the emotion when Mac got on the ice, when he was introduced, when he started the game on a line with Maltby and Draper. This was good stuff. Even the coldest heart had to melt a little, and with all the bad news going around, it was an opportunity to smile a little and feel good. Something neat was happening. He's made mistakes, McCarty has, and he readily admits it. He's not a perfect human being, but none of us are. But he seems to be trying. For sure a lot of Wings fans were happy to see Mac back in a Wings jersey, that's for sure. The Wings lost, but I got the sense many fans went home satisfied. They can wear those McCarty sweaters boldly and proudly again. He's officially back in town.
