Holmstrom update

Tomas Holmstrom will have a cortisone shot Friday to alleviate the discomfort for his abdominal strain. Holmstrom has missed the last 10 games (counting Friday's game against St. Louis) and likely won't be back until Wednesday's game in Chicago, at the earliest. "We'll see if this can decrease the pain and he can get out there and skate," coach Mike Babcock said. All of Holmstrom's tests have been positive and shown no tears. Dominik Hasek (flu) skated on his own before practice before a return to game action isn't likely this weekend. "We're giving him a chance to get healthy," trainer Piet Van Zant said. "It's been going around and knocked a few people on their behinds." Dallas Drake (sternum) will return to the Wings line up against the Blues.
