Wings 3, Coyotes 2
Wings 3, Coyotes 2: Thoughts: 1) You have to wonder how long Niklas Kronwall will be out this time. Babcock said after the game early indications are at least a week. The injury was to the left shoulder area. Amazing how much bad luck this guy has had in regard to injuries throughout his NHL career. The Wings missed Kronwall when he was out for the playoffs last season and can't afford to have him miss a lot of games this time around. 2) Ugly game tonight for the most part, but the Wings find a way to turn it on in the 3rd period and salvage two points. And, of course, Nicklas Lidstrom was key on both third period goals. 3) How about Lidstrom earning some Hart Trophy-Most Valuable Player votes? He's deserving of more than the Norris Trophy this season. 4) Great save by Osgood on Shane Doan to preserve the victory with 30 seconds to go. Doan was on a breakaway after getting behind Chelios-Meech but Osgood was never fooled. Certainly an exciting way to cap the game although Babcock wasn't very pleased about the entire breakdown.
