If you've always dreamed of a national park vacation, now may be the right time. The U.S. Interior Department on Tuesday announced free admission at the 147 national parks that typically charge entrance fees during three summer weekends: June 20-21, July 18-19 and August 15-16. Some concessionaires also will give away $5 vouchers, or freebies on tours, boat rides and the like. But note that regular camping fees will still apply. Park entrance fees typically range from $3 to $25. For starters, you might consider Isle Royale National Park right in our own, albeit distant, backyard, or think about these other popular national parks: Grand Canyon (Arizona), Yellowstone and Grand Tetons(Wyoming), Yosemite (California), Rocky Mountain (Colorado), Glacier (Montana), Bryce and Zion (Utah), Great Smoky Mountains (Tennessee), and Mammoth Cave (Kentucky).
