Metro Airport in Top 5 ranking

Here's a good reason to be proud of living in the D: we've got a great airport.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus was named by Airports Council International's Airport Service Quality Awards 2008. ACI takes a look at various customer service benchmarks and surveys customers on what airports are doing the best job at getting customers where they're going in the most efficient and comfortable manner.

Though South Korea's Incheon Airport near Seoul was a clear favorite, earning the coveted Best Airport Worldwide award, Metro Airport in Romulus made a strong showing in the 25-40 million passengers a year category, taking the No. 4 spot just behind fellow Delta/Northwest hub Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Incheon took the top honors in that category, followed by Singapore's airport, while China's Shanghai Pudong airport took the fifth spot in the 25-40 million race.
