Randy Marsh: Not your finest hour ...
First, there's the strike zone that's been consistently inconsistent all night long, and now home-plate umpire Randy Marsh has absolutely butchered a game-changing situation here in the 12th inning.
Don't be surprised if umpires are able to review video of more than just home run calls in the future, because Marsh flat-out missed Brandon Inge getting nicked with that pitch with the bases loaded. That's huge, cuz Nick Punto made a fine play coming home for the force on Inge's high chopper up the middle and Gerald Laird, with a full count, struck out swinging at ball four.
Marsh, by the way, was also pretty bad during last week's Twins-Tigers series at Comerica Park. You just didn't hear about that, cuz Angel Hernandez was worse.
This has been a season of missed chances and bad breaks for the Tigers, and you get the sense that's just the way it's going to end, too.
The Twins won't be silenced for long. With Michael Cuddyer and Delmon Young -- two of their hottest hitters the past month -- due up, it might be over soon.
