Santiago a pitcher?
Ramon Santiago was going to pitch the 14th inning if Wednesday night's game had gone that far.
The reason?
Nate Robertson's back problem (lower back strain) has forced him onto the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 6.
It first began to bother him after Sunday's game in Cleveland and steadily got worse.
To replace Robertson, and because they need another lefty, the Tigers have purchased the contact of Luke French from Toledo, where he was 2-2 with a 2.91 ERA.

Seeing how the Tiger's really, really need a #3 hitter-
what do you think of trading for Ryan Zimmerman of the Nationals?
I would go Inge and 2 quality, minor league pitchers. Maybe French and Marte and throw in Ryan Strieby for good measure.
