Tom Gage

The Detroit News

Answer for Joe B

From Lakeland - it will be Miner in Game 3, Porcello in Game 4 and Armando Galarraga in Game 5, the home opener.

There's also some indecision about whether to hit Thames or Laird sixth. Whichever of the two doesn't hit sixth will hit seventh.

Rodney

I am going to make this simple> What does Leyland see in Rodney? because he must see somthing I dont or a whole lot of fans dont. Every game I went to see he pitched in and was terrible.I dont know if Lyon is the answer or what but I can tell you Rodney isnt.

Tom Gage- sixes and sevens

JL's comment was that Thames was "a three run homer waiting to happen". The rationale behind dropping him to 7th and batting Larid sixth, is that Laird may put up a higher OBP. But there are more guys on base when Thames comes up if he follows those with the HIGHEST OBP, not just those with a higher OBP than himself. Laird's base hits would tend to drive in more runs without Thames in front of him, but who is the higher RBI guy, here? I would hope it's our new DH. Just my two cents worth. Better yet, get Marcus to lay off the outside breaking stuff and increase his OBP.
