Conceding defeat?
Verite', you do me no favors in supporting my position. Your last few posts were full of "non-verite".
Conceding defeat?
Right on, ConPat!
Conceding defeat?
Todd, neither defeat nor victory is conceded. It was a rational discussion that had run it's course. You advocate the government dictating who and why people can enter into legal contracts based on gender and sexual orientation and I do not. I pointed out the errors in your information which didn't seem to change your mind, and that is OK. You are entitled to your opinion. And I have mine. What you don't know is what my opinion is because I was not arguing based on my opinion, I was arguing based on the concept that my opinion doesn't matter. Freedom matters. Equal protection under the law matters. My opinion or your opinion should not influence the life of ANYONE else through use of force, A.K.A. The Law, if they are not violating someone's individual rights. Neither you nor I have a right to decide who can marry and who can not, to believe you do is to be no better than the village elder deciding a 17 year old girl will marry a 40 year old man against her will.
Conceding defeat?
"Todd, continued discussion of this topic is pointless. You refuse to see that your prejudice against homosexuals is descriminatory in nature and that you want the law to restrict the fundamental right of people to enter into legal contracts based on gender descrimination. I refuse to accept that the law should dictate what legal contracts people can enter into based on their gender. This is a slippery slope towards state religion establishment as well as other forms of liberty killing descrimination."
I wasn't in a contest with you. Although I do admit, I enjoyed listening to you. Your welcome to challenge me anytime on issues like this. I appreciate the dialogue whether we agree or not and your welcome to challenge me anytime. Believe it or not, I appreciate that to. :o)
God Bless
