Sorry, George, Bristol's pregnancy does matter

Please remember that Mother Palin wants to impose her religious views on matters of choice and family values on us. And, as an advocate of abstinence education, Palin expects us to pay for programs that express her narrow views -- yet her own family shows us how ineffective such efforts often prove to be. I want my tax dollars used to give young girls information on birth control. Sarah wants families to handle such matters, but clearly she didn't do a good job of teaching her daughter how to avoid a teenage pregnancy. Or doesn't she believe in birth control?

I also think it's outrageous that Mrs. Palin accepted the offer to become vice president knowing that this would put her daughter into the spotlight at what must be a difficult time for this young girl. Why didn't Sarah "just say no"?

It isn't the media who thrust Bristol into the spotlight - it was her mother. I thought conservatives believed in putting family first?

I liberal, citizen didn't know her??

Pinee, Detroti Mi wrote in part "Todd, straight talker, TDC, and the rest of you conservatives become revolutionaries for your cause.

Hardly "Pinee".. This election is just like the ones in the past..picking the lesser of the 2 evils. This time McCain is the better choice

BTW..This is from a voter that did vote for Carter, Perot, and Not Bush in 2004.

Perhaps you can tell us the prominent GOP candidates you voted for. Please don't bother claiming that in every election, for every office the best candidate as a 'dem

------------

Pinee "As a black guy, if a Democrat Party messenger say in anyway, even the smallest hint he didn't believe completely in the rights I earned. I would reject him/ her completely, like a diry kleanex."

Feel free to list the "rights you earned" vs the rights others EARNED FOR YOU.

Feel free to list them here ===>

----------------

Pinee "From here Sen. McClain/ Gov. Palin don't really represent you."

What a shock..Pinee, Bonnie Bucqueroux, Libby Spencer, et al don't like McCain/Palin.

--------------

Pinee "That is what the modern Republican Party offers it's conservative constituents, kibitz and zings."

Have you even read the GOP platform? Do you see how it differs from the 'dem platform?

----------------

Pinee "Gov. Palin what are the issues, events, and people??? I liberal, citizen, don't know of her or her."

She has roughly the same experience as your presidential candidate. Why are you not asking the same questions from both ?

Try honesty for a change Pinee..There is no way you are voting for a GOP candidate period

How's life been in Detroit under 'dem rule for the past two+ generations?

"Fox news had two black guys debating some subject, the conservative was a known homosexual. How could a homosexual debate a masculine issue for another man?? yikes!!!

SAVE THE COUNTRY- ABORT DEMOCRATS.

The nutty ideologues on the Left have convinced me. Think like the Left does. When you see low IQ blurbs and rants all about choice from every level, academics, politicians,journalist- our path is obvious, let them have their way. Make abortion free for all Democrats - no, not good enough! Lets pay $10,000 for every every Democrat abortion. ( maybe 20 grand for a tube job), We pay at least that much a year for the half of Dems that do nothing but sit and whine all day wile collecting from society.

Since population growth is contributing to global toasting, and the biggest reason why Social Security, Medicare and welfare are sinking our country, let's join the Greenies and do something constructive. Save the U.S., prevent Dems.

Not as much as you think

MT,

He is a proponent of the "The Bell Curve" which is a book that basically states that there is a direct collation to race and intelligence.

He also posted false rumors on numerous occasions simply to generate controversial opinions. Mostly against conservative women, such as Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, and most recently Sarah Palin.

This meets all qualifications in my book. It comes to no surprise that Bonnie would read and quote his blog. If you look at her MSU blog on Detnews, you'll notice that almost every single blogger is a white female. So much for diversity in Journalism. White guilt does not mean your not racist.

Sorry, George

It is beyond belief and reasonable thinking that this pregnancy should be used as an example for tax payer funded birth control information. Let's look at it from another perspective. After all the years of taxes going to this ill fated project how many boys and girls, men and woman are still not using proper birth control methods? For this reason we should eliminate this funding. Why should my tax payers dollars go for an unsuccessful program that Bonnie wants her taxes to be used for? why should my taxes go toward paying for abortions? If abortions are legal shouldn't the person's involved in this pregnance pay for it our of their own pocket? I believe, 1 million abortions a year in the US is an indication that these programs that Bonnie speaks of are a complete failure.

I liberal, citizen didn't know her??

Todd, straight talker, TDC, and the rest of you conservatives become revolutionaries for your cause.

As a black guy, if a Democrat Party messenger say in anyway, even the smallest hint he didn't believe completely in the rights I earned. I would reject him/ her completely, like a diry kleanex.

The Republican Party messengers always, from here, seem to reject every real tenet and philosophy you conservatives have on this forum.

From here Sen. McClain/ Gov. Palin don't really represent you.

from here they the Republican Party messengers speak. We can't really stop the complete social, political, change which has occured.

However, every once in a while they, the Republican Party messengers, will kibitz and zing, black people, China, France, non-Christian religions and women.

That is what the modern Republican Party offers it's conservative constituents, kibitz and zings.

But remember they tell you conservatives you have morals and values those "others" don't have.

Though we can't enact not one of your tresured tenets, keep in your bosom the reason we can't, they the "others" just don't have the morals and values of our good people.

For me, from now, Sen. McClain must attempt to deal with real issues, events, and people during Election 2008.

When he runs on taxes, that means he doen't have any authority or influence to saddle us "others" with your out-dated social and political tenets.

Gov. Palin what are the issues, events, and people???

I liberal, citizen, don't know of her or her.

Not as much as you think

Andrew Sullivan is a racist, bigoted pig

I used to read Andrew all the time. I don't know, and really don't think, he's a racist or a bigot; but he has gone of the deep end I believe. He always considered himself a Burkean conservative; he sounds more like Robespierre.

Not as much as you think

Its obvious from your MSU blog here at the Detnews that you teach your students your same warped journalism values.

We use our tax dollars everyday in Detroit to promote sex education. How many children are born out of wedlock there? Why is it secular progressives are so quick to throw someone under the bus that is "christian". Where is the tolerance that you so preach. Is that only reserved for yourselves?

=

Bonnie loves to attack Republicans daughters. She had the same viral attitude for Cheney's lesbian daughter. I get this weird sense that you have a fetish for attacking daughters. Perhaps this is a latent repression from not enough daddy love?

Is the requirement at MSU the same as the liberal club? 1.5 GPA and double digit IQ? So far the only attacks on candidates children have been coming from the left. I can't really blame you on that though. Everyone knows that liberals hate children and you've just re-enforced that.

As a side note. Andrew Sullivan is a racist, bigoted pig. It comes to no surprise that you and Libby read his filth.

CyberSurvey: Death certificates for aborted fetuses?

The science of the matter says abortion is the killing of a human life, not religion. I suggest you pick up a Bio 101 class and see what new things science has discovered about the human reproductive process since you last studied it in the 60's.

Tax dollars should not be spent teaching people about birth control. PARENTS should be teaching people about birth control.

People have babies all the time. This girl will be a legal adult shortly, with all the positives and negatives that come with it. Something tells me that Ms. Palin will not have too difficult a time with her new baby... I am sure her family will be there for her.

What is it with people who are looking for the governemt to replace the role of the family? Does the government have to step in for ignorant parents? To try to educate them? Birth control is not rocket science, these parents are WILLFULLY IGNORANT. You can NOT teach the willfully ignorant no matter how much of my money you demand be thrown at them.

Bristol's pregnancy

It never fails to amaze me how moronic the views of the far left continue to become. The writers who express these views are vapid, sad faux-intellectuals and driven by ego and elitist self-centered thought. Bucqueroux's writing on this subject is a perfect example. It is sad that what was once a proud, well-written newspaper allows this garbage spewing leftist to rant in her idiotic blog on here. Bucqueroux, you are nothing more than a horse's ass.

Sarah Palin's Views

Yes, Sarah Palin wants to impose her narrow views on religion, birth control, etc., on us.

Is this not a FREE country? Are we not FREE to worship as want? (barring animal & human sacrifice, that is) Are women not FREE to decide for themselves if they want/can afford, both mentally & physically, to have a child?

If Ms. Palin had not spent so much time personally directing the wholesale slaughter of America's beautiful wildlife, she might see the thousands of children thrown away, killed, abandoned by their parents Because They Didn't Want Them/Could Not Afford Them in the first place. Birth control would have prevented many, many needless deaths. Not every woman is cut out to be a mom; nor every man a dad. That's the way it is.

Ms. Palin should stay in her own bedroom - not everyone else's.

Response to Bonnie Bucqueroux

With all respect to your opinion Bonnie, I would like to point out how tiresome it is when people use their right of opinion to attack others. You have no intimate knowledge of the family or the situation and yet you feel free to attack Mrs Palin and her beliefs. You do not know if the daughter was taught about birth control or anything else she was taught. Children make their own choices in life regardless of their upbringing. To make the statement that abstinence teaching doesn't work is absurd. All children learn about birth control and much more in schools, have access to free contraceptives and this does nothing to prevent teenage pregnancies. No education or program is 100% effective because individuals have free choice regardless of access, instruction and knowledge. To attack Mrs Palin for not thinking of family once again is not based on any intimate knowledge of the family. If you truly believe in a childs rights of access than they should also have the right to experience, learn from and grow through the results of any decisions they make. Mrs Palins family is supporting and encouraging their daughter and continuing to guide her through the situation as a family should. Try next time having empathy for others situations rather than to attack to further your beliefs.

Sorry, George, Bristol's pregnancy does matter

Bonnie continues:

I want my tax dollars used to give young girls information on birth control.

Great, send a donation to the government. Unfortunately, in the real world, you are forcing me, through the tax code, to pay for something I may not agree with; or as you articulated "to pay for her narrow views". Perhaps I believe your view is narrow. How is this situation any different?

Sarah wants families to handle such matters, but clearly she didn't do a good job of teaching her daughter how to avoid a teenage pregnancy.

Perhaps she didn't handle the matter well; but how is her solution of having the family handle it, failing? It seems to me the girl choose to have sex, choose to keep the baby once pregnant, is choosing to marry the father, and has the support and safety net of both families? What's the problem? And why do you care so much?

I also think it's outrageous that Mrs. Palin accepted the offer

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Nothing would make her selection not outrageous to you. She's a Republican, you're a Radical Liberal. She could be Mother Theresa and you'd still be in the front row ready to nail her to the cross

Mon. 09/01/08 11:27 PM

Sorry, George, Bristol's pregnancy does matter

Mother Palin wants to impose her religious views on matters of choice and family values on us.

How so? I assume you speak of sex education and abortion. How is her "imposing" any different than your ideology, moral code, and opinion imposing on me?

Palin expects us to pay for programs that express her narrow views

How so? And how is it any different than you forcing me to pay for your narrow views?

I can't believe you actually instruct young adults. No wonder this country is going to pot. Your logic and argumentation are pathetic.
