Why bother to even hold primaries?
Michigan voters shouldn't feel too bad about being cut of the convention. Apparently the whole primary process is a sham. According to a recent DNC memo, there is no rule that requires regular pledged delegates to cast their first votes at the convention for the candidate that 'won' their pledge during the primary. Worse yet a spokesman for Hillary announced today they would have no problem in exploiting this loophole if that's what it takes for her to win. I fail to see how this would be any less divisive than tipping the scales by browbeating superdelegates into anointing her candidacy.
It's clear to me that once this election is over, we the people need to demand a complete overhaul of the selection mechanisim. Meanwhile, if they're going to choose in back room deals, the DNC should stop wasting our time and money on 'elections' that don't count.
