The deal on Sheed's jerseys

We just finished the first stop on the Pistons tip-off bus tour -- had a nice visit with Lewton Elementary School in Lansing. But I did get an answer to why people couldn't find Rasheed Wallace jersey's for purchase on the Pistons' Web site. People were assuming that maybe the Pistons were trading him or something -- not so much.

The reason the Wallace jerseys were pulled is because he's changing his number. He will go back to No. 30, after wearing No. 36 since 2004-2005.

We are on our way to Grand Rapids and then to Traverse City. Obviously, the Pistons are doing this trip -- the first since 2001 -- for several reasons. There is a lot of community service going on with Read to Achieve and other programs. But the bottom line is, season ticket sales have lagged for the first time in a while and the Pistons are back out beating the bushes.

Rodney Stuckey and Arron Afflalo are on board. As is vice president Scott Perry. Joe Dumars spoke to the media in Lansing and will meet up with us again Thursday in Flint. Coach Michael Curry will join up later, as well. He is back in Georgia tending to the death of his grandmother. It is the second death in Curry's family since August, when his father passed.

Don't know if I will get a chance to blog until later, but check detnews.com later for comments from Dumars, Stuckey and more.
