Roll Playing for a Career or Some Starts on the Horizons in a Different Uniform?

#22 could be starting as you all know for any NBA team-so "stop playing" as we say in the hood! R U Serious as the querry goes in the same place-#22 in a different Uni! Could be...especially his last leg of his contract...I don't think, it would challenge him much without giving another go at it...he's has demur personality but its an A-B personality or Productive B+ personality...its almost A but he is to acquiescing and coachble to be obnoxious like some Starters...the quest for that ring somewhere else might glitter to him...

McDyes and Prince the only two with Medals thus far on the Pistons...guys never considered the first scoring option but has to be considered true - 'cogs' of the organization's success factors in the W/L column--what a study in leadership, productivity, and vision on Joe's part, though what he has done at the State Fair Grounds is paltry in respect to what he others of his stature who claim they love the D could do!

We hope not because he will definitely be an all time leaders-one of the time five scorers in Detroit history in four-seven more years...I believe he stops pushing it up the floor at around 15 years-unless there is some gas still left, but if the gas is there but not the glitter then it might be a different Horizon soon to dress out!

'Los Delfino

17 pts (6 of 18 shooting with 3 of 10 from 3pt) in a loss.

That's all I'm saying. . .nothing.

Getting Testy

Joanne,

Let that encounter with the Dutch be a lesson to you and all other American journalists. For all the lofty talk in this country among certain journalist types about being 'citizens of the world' or not getting swept up in 'nationalist or patriotic pride', the fact of the matter is that you will only hear that kind of drivel here in America. Journalists from every other country on Earth are nationalists first, journalists distant second. Repeat your experiment with a Korean or Russian journalist and see what happens.

Good Luck

Good luck Cheryl. What an awesome trip and games it will be for you and all the Team USA Athletes. Say hello to my fiend Tyler Merren!

Scoring???

So can someone explain to me how gymnastics is actually scored....??? I understand that some moves are more complex than others but if you don't succeeed why do you still get a score? I just watched some Chinese woman attempt a high difficulty vault and she landed on her knees - to me that means she didn't accomplish anything and should get a zero for that - why should you get a relatively high score just because you attempt a difficult vault if you don't actually pull it off? If that is the case, shouldn't every one try the hardest vault possible even if they land on their face? Seems like that should be the risk you take for trying something more difficult - if you succeed fine, but if you fail you should get nothing for it....

Carrie Howe

Do you mean to tell us that there is someone besides Michael Phelps on the U.S. Olympic team? Would it be possible for you to share this information with NBC???

Thank you, John, for covering other local athletes. Your broader coverage is appreciated.

Yikes!

No ego problem here, that's for sure. If he wants to be there then go...but he wants someone else to pay for it and treat him like a king while he's there. UGH!

Joanne Gerstner; Our goodwill ambassador!

I posed for 10 photos with Chinese that asked me to pose with their kids or whatever. . . . A student who spoke some English explained that I "look very American."

How cool, Joanne -- You're now part of families' Olympic albums in the host city! 'One world, one dream' indeed.

And as a reminder that 'status' is all relative, in Europe being told you "look very American" would not necessarily be a compliment.

Um, John, this has been up all day -- and that picture is of Dirk Nowitzki. Not Chris Kaman.

Olympics

Hi John, I really enjoyed talking to you yesterday at Hanson's. I'll be looking forward to your coverage from Beijing. I'm a bit envious, but I'll get over it. If you see my cousin Darryl over there, tell him I said hi. If you get a chance, tell O'Hara I'll run with him in Royal Oak whenever he's ready. Good Luck and safe travel!

A Night for Tears...

The Ann Arbor swim fans appreciate your coverage of our local talent. The Ann Arbor News doesn't have print space for the actual Ann Arbor kids who grew up here and qualified for Olympic Trials, not even listing their names. It's a huge accomplishment, and thankfully you guys have the class to remember the ones who have always been here! The state of Michigan has raised a bunch of darn good swimmers. Thank you for not forgetting about them!

Getting it right!

U of M could have gotten it right by hiring Eric when Jon retired. I don't know if they can ever get it right after that mistake. I think that Peter Linn would be an excellent choice but I don't know if he could be around fro 10+ years.

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.
