You know what Nolan? Jail just might be a solid bit of retirement planning if the Democrats keep passing these 1000+ page bills.
Going to jail for my generation might be like ol' gramps heading to FLA to get a break from the winter.
FBI Shootout
The tapes are revealing by themselves. Let's not create moral equivalencies with people angry over high taxes or the patriot act. Pure hatred of this country and culture and a willingness to act are something that can not be argued with or debated.
The Mission Was Accomplished
Nolan, I think Bush was itching for an excuse to get into Iraq and I think Obama came in looking for excuses to enact government takeovers wherever possible.
So for both of these Presidents, the mission was accomplished perfectly well.
With Obama's mindset that government run businesses are better for people because the government doesn't have a profit motive - the question is how much more? How many more industries will be brought the their knees by government over-regulation? Leaving companies ripe for unconstitutional plucking by an Administration who sees our framework as quote "a charter of negative rights."
Socialists never put down their pens. They are always writing the next batch of regulations and laws to "engineer" a new experiment on society. And the consequences, intended or unintended, are the collateral damage of Obama's domestic war on free markets.
ACORN
Exactly. Why isn't it about the voter fraud? It barely gets mentioned. People are under indictment or have been convicted all over the country and it took amateur hour to muck this up?
This is a great example of what it takes to get the attention of congress...shallow, salacious, and inconsequential. In other words something near and dear to their little congressional hearts.
Health Care Opponents
The Democrats can pass this "bill" anytime they want. How the media overplays an outburst from a back-bencher from a party that could not even filibuster a bill to suspend the right to breathe is funny if it were not so hypocritical. The democrats have not shown an ounce of decorum in the last 10 years and look where it got them. (REF: Paul Wellstone Memorial, 2005 State of the Union, code pink's antics, etc. etc.)
To the point, how many people have not noticed that the majority of media outlets actively support the democrat party? The so-called MSM spikes stories all the time that they deem unfavorable to their "side." The ACORN video is but the most recent example.
In the end, the government take over of healthcare will not have anything to do with a guy named Joe Wilson or what the media says about him or republicans: We are quickly passing the point of having less than 50% of the country populated by taxpayers. Its just a numbers game now and a matter of time.
Those who seek to grow government will not suddenly say "that was enough" and put down their pens after passing their vision of nationalized healthcare and carbon taxes. There will be new "programs" and new bureaucracies created to ensure the distribution of the shrinking wealth pool in the future. We know the names of some of these programs and can guess at others, but eventually there will be nothing left to redistribute.
Who will the democrats blame then? When they have obligated the last dollar our children could ever hope to earn in a lifetime they will still be asking for more.
If an outburst from a justifiably incensed member of congress is enough to push this country trillions more in debt and allow for the creation of something like 12 new bureaucracies to oversee who gets treated and who pays, then we are already lost and left to counting our days.
GREEN JOBS
There is no such thing as a "green" economy - we have an economy. This example will be played out millions of times over the next 4 years as we hold our own heads underwater.
Saying we will destroy one major part of the economy for the promise of a new one emerging is like stepping in a bucket and trying to life yourself up by the handles.
Dry Run
Don't be so quick to assume these people are what the media is telling you they are.
During the election last year there were many plants at rallies from both camps trying to discredit one another. I recall a certain dem operative holding a KKK sign at an Obama rally in Denver.
Guns at town hall meetings
With the slew of staged attacks on Democrat offices now coming out I wouldn't be too quick to judge these people on face value. Recent political hoax crimes by Ashley Todd and Maurice Schwenkler have made little news. The Democrats made big news out of them then the truth doesn't get covered.
Kind of like the black guy with the AR-15 at a town hall, whom MSNBC cropped and insinuated was a racist white guy.
It's much easier to discredit people than it is to take them on the issues...especially when the issue has been widely judged a loser.
Peak Oil...Back From The Dead
Since the late 1960's environmentalists have warned about the coming doom of the world's oil reserves. None more famous than Jimmy Carter's judgment that oil would start running out "in the mid 1980's."
Well, the oil doomers are back in a recent report from the International Energy Agency with dire predictions that carbon-based energy will start running out around 2020, but this time they may be undercutting their global warming buddies at the UN.
The obvious conclusion is that if natural limitations on oil and other market forces will force our economy into non-carbon energy sources then why do we need to do the cap and trade/tax?
Why So Worried?
Demonize, bully and silence the opposition. Push through "reforms" before people could possibly understand what is at work. This has been the MO for scoundrels forever.

Unsavory Boyfriend
It's about time someone said it. This is at least the 4th or 5th case I can recall where the mother of a missing child is living with a convicted pedophile and he is the one that hurt the child. This is a heart wrenching event that may have been easily avoided.
