Hoekstra digs for Fort Hood answers
Rep. Peter Hoekstra has jumped right into the middle of the Fort Hood massacre, and that's where he ought to stay until he gets some answers.
Hoekstra, the Holland Republican who is the ranking minority member of the House Intelligence Committee, is demanding documents from the CIA and other intelligence agencies to determine how much they knew about the shooter, Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, and when they knew it. So far, the agencies are refusing to deliver.
But reports suggest Hasan may have contacted the al-Qaida terrorist group at some point, and that intelligence gatherers were aware of it.
If true, it raises the question of whether the Army was alerted and, if so, why Hasan was allowed to remain on active duty. Was the military hypersensitive to being accused of profiling, since Hasan is a Muslim? Are other officers who exhibit signs of radicalization or instability treated the same way?
Those are important questions, and Hoekstra should keep banging on the door until all of the evidence is made public.

That was just a little too much of a stretch to be taken seriously as an argument. I think conspiracy theories are in a different section.

post traumatic stress disorder caused by:
American troops yelling 4 letter words at foreigners (especially kids)
American troops handing out cheap candy to kids (or throwing candy AT kids)-usually against the wishes of those kids' parents and giving those kids tooth decay)
American troops handing out unstylish, cheap, used clothing to civilians. Except for an occassional purple finger after voting- that's about all America gives to foreigners in need. These cheap handouts demonstrate to foreigners what a cheap country the troops represent.
American troops shooting kids pets. (formerly, it was shooting water buffalo)
American helicopter pilots swooping down at civilians in the countryside- scaring them to death. (formerly swooping down at farmers in their rice paddies and watching them hit the water!)
American troops skrewing the above-mentioned kids' underage sisters !
American troops dis-arming foreign civilians of their weapons (even small calibre handguns) on their streets. Then, when those dis-armed civilians are found dead in mass graves with their throats slit- American troops gather around the news cameras with crocodile tears- telling everyone what a horrible enemy they are facing! How is a civilian supposed to protect himself on the way to the store if American troops dis-arm him?! Is he supposed to depend on American troops to protect him? Yeah, sure!
The list of the "wonderful things" U.S. troops do for (or rather, TO) foreign civilians- goes on and on.......
All those kind of actions causes troops to come home full of shame and resentment for having been put in situations which have absolutely NO relevance to defending their country!
All those kinds of actions is what lost the Vietnam war.
All those kinds of actions is what has SUBVERTED the self-determination of each individual Iraqi. It's what has subverted each Iraqi's ability to FIGHT HIS OWN BATTLE against terrorists.
All that p.t.s.d. in the troops was probably enough to make a psychiatrist GO BERSERK and start shooting everyone in sight- evidently !
Hoekstra's search for publicity
So now Pete Hoekstra wants to investigate the Ft. Hood situation. Before it was the Gitmo situation. What next to try to up his name recognition for his run to be Michigan's next governor?
