Lions win! Unbelievable finish as Stafford beats Browns, 38-37

One last chance for the Lions started at the Detroit 12-yard line with 1:46 to play. Trailing by six, with no timeouts left. And three straight completions -- all kept inbounds -- pushed the ball to the Detroit 45 with 43 seconds left.

A 11-yard completion to Brandon Pettigrew put the ball at the Cleveland 43, and a first-down spike left 27 seconds on the clock.

A third-down completion to Casey FitzSimmons put it at the Browns' 32 with 8 seconds left. And after a ridiculous scrambling play, Stafford's Hail Mary was intercepted. But pass interference gave the Lions the ball at the 1-yard line with no time on the clock. And no Stafford, either. He got clobbered on the play by the Browns' C.J. Mosley. But a Cleveland timeout gave him enough time to recover and return to the field, rather than Daunte Culpepper. And in a finish that had to be seen to be believed -- sorry, metro Detroiters -- Stafford hit Pettigrew in the end zone for the winning touchdown.
