Stafford still giving injury talk the 'run around'

The Lions' three-day break ends when they return to practice Tuesday in Allen Park, and the big mystery remains whether or not Matthew Stafford -- as well as Calvin Johnson -- will be on the field as something other than bystanders. (Ditto Sammie Hill and Jason Hunter and Dewayne White and so on.)

But Stafford, who tested his injured right knee with a limited practice Oct. 14, then backed off after it swelled up again, hinted on his weekly WJR radio spot tonight that he'll at least try to practice Tuesday. Asked to put a percentage on his chances of playing Sunday against the Rams, Stafford told co-hosts Mitch Albom and Ken Brown, "I don't know. I think I'll have a better thought about that maybe tomorrow. See if I can maybe run around a little bit and see how I'm feeling. I haven't done too much to test it in the last week, to tell you the truth. I've just been trying to rest it as much as I can."

Stafford still giving injury talk the 'run around'

would you rather see Schwartz act like they have nothing? Do you want him to coach down to the lions talent level? Would you be happier to have him act like he WASN'T and N.F.L. coach? Turning a team like the lions around isn't easy, and I for one am glad to see the coaching staff at least try to act like they belong in the N.F.L., we haven't had that for a while. remember taking the wind in o.t.? Remember the comment "what's it take to get fired around here?"....Is that what you want in a coaching staff?

Flydog, have a friend that was going to move to Ft. Meyers a couple years ago, he decided not to and he's glad now. Pretty much the same here, was a boom area now a lot of contractors scrapping for a piece of a much smaller pie. I have been thru this before, and it does chase out the bad contractors if you can just hang on. I hear horror stories all the time of people getting gouged by guys trying to make a weeks pay off a service call. Plus competition for jobs pretty much makes you give stuff away, plus these people think you're their Biatch for the day sometimes. I call it year long winter work! sucks but at least I have something to do everyday, which is more then I can say for a lot of people. Speaking of which, the princess got done with her 55 gallon hot water shower and she's off to school so I can get in now and take my cold shower and get my half days work done and get to splittin some logs later people for real this time1

DKMI- I think the Lions are operating under a shroud of secrecy in hopes that Rams players get injured in practice. If Stafford doesn't start, they might as well rest up and skip practice, because they won't need it.

SNP- 175 million Pesos would barely get me through the toll booth to Sanibel Island. Unforunately, I'm not......how should I put this...........my assets are not liquid at the moment. Unless you count the 7000 Pesos Latte that I spilled in my truck without taking a sip as a liquid asset. My socks would concur. Yeah, the economy sucks here almost as bad as Detroit, 13% unemployment. And that doesn't count the under-employed, like contractors, or real-estate agents who's commisiions are about 25% of what they were 3 years ago. In fact, I didn't even bother to pony up the 80,000 Pesos to re-new my RE Liscense. Woe is me! Until I found the secret to happiness anyway, the Mayans!

Disco, Disco, Dicso...........my mushroom crop is self-contained, it's under my trailer which is tightly wrapped with barbed-wire, and I've strategically placed land-mines around my .33 acre estate. Plus, with the Mayans in my life now, as long as I supply them with Hennessey, I have access to the best psychedelics in the World!

go lions.

Stafford still giving injury talk the 'run around'

I cannot see Stafford starting if he's not at 90 percent,,I don't need to read an article to know that the Q.B,(franchise?) is going to play with the chance he will be lost for the remaining part of the season. I know this is the Lions we are talking about, but Schwartz has to be smarter than that. At least I hope so.

Billy, Walters has us taking your safety from tennesee at pick one if Okung and Mccoy are gone,,, funny, Scout.inc doesn't have the tennesee safety in their top twenty,,,,,makes me think the mocks are a crock...

Later gators.

Who do the Lions think they are? They aren't the Patriots. The incredible amount of secrecy surrounding Stafford's injury is laughable. Do they really think other teams are scratching their heads, wondering how they can possibly prepare for the sad-sack Lions if they don't know which of their QB's will be starting? I'm sure defensive coordinators are losing sleep over not knowing.
