Culpepper has stitches, Stanton goes for MRI on knee
Quick update after practice. Stubbed-toe, compression-style cut Saturday night has left Culpepper with eight disposable stitches on his toe. But while he watched practice Monday -- and declined to speak to reporters afterward -- backup Drew Stanton was nowhere to be found. Coach Jim Schwartz said he experienced signficant swelling in his knee Sunday and was scheduled for an MRI on Monday.
Matthew Stafford took all the snaps in an abbreviated 80-minute practice, but the Lions likely will have to sign a quarterback to play in relief Thursday at Buffalo if Culpepper isn't cleared to play.
