Lions sign RB Davis, waive/injured WR Harris; Fenroy visits
(Updated 3:20 p.m.) The Lions made a roster move Monday, signing free agent running back Tristan Davis, an undrafted rookie out of Auburn, and placing rookie receiver Kenneth Harris on the waived/injured list. Harris had missed the last week of training camp with a sprained ankle.
Davis, a 5-foot-9, 210-pound speed back who struggled with injuries during his college career, also excelled on kickoff returns in college.
The Lions played Saturday's game with only three healthy running backs, as Maurice Morris remained sidelined with a hamstring injury and Allen Ervin is out with a foot injury.
The team also hosted running back Tyrell Fenroy, an undrafted rookie out of Louisiana-Lafayette, for a visit Monday. Fenroy, who had a brief stint with the Chicago Bears after the draft in May, is one of only seven players in college football history to rush for 1,000 yards four consecutive seasons.
