Abs of Steel? Stafford will let Sanchez be the poster boy

They can kid him about the money, but one thing the Lions' vets can't razz Matthew Stafford about his a racy photo shoot like the one Mark Sanchez did for GQ magazine.

Stafford did have his pre-draft makeover with help from ESPN and Maria Sharapova, but there was no bare-chested magazine spread like the one his friend and fellow top-five pick dared to do.

"No, I haven't had any offers, but my abs aren't as cut as those of Mark Sanchez," Stafford joked after Thursday's OTA workout. "But, yeah, I saw that. I'm gonna have to give him a call about that."

For the record, Stafford reported to Allen Park at his expected playing weight of 225 pounds. (Actually, he was 224.5 on Monday, he said.)

Asked if he thought Sanchez's photos were airbrushed, Stafford laughed and shook his head, "I don't know. We're not THAT good of friends."
