Schwartz ready to rock 'n' roll
Jim Schwartz will be an in-studio guest for an extended spot on the "Mike in the Morning" show on WRIF-FM (101.1) Wednesday morning, starting at about 8:15 a.m. He'll talk football and probably a lot more -- after all, this is a guy who checked into his hotel when he first got to Detroit under the fake name "Jack White" (of White Stripes fame).
A few other notes that fell through the cracks today, with OTA availability and the impending Larry Foote signing:
-- Receiver Keary Colbert, a late-season addition in 2008, will be in Allen Park for a visit and workout Wednesday.
-- Also, the Lions signed linebacker Spenser Smith (Eastern Michigan), a rookie camp tryout invitee, and veteran guard Toniu Fonoti, a 6-foot-4, 340-pounder (cough, cough) who spent the last two offseasons with Atlanta and Carolina but failed to make a roster.
Not sure what's up with defensive tackle Grady Jackson, who was excused from Tuesdayââ,¬â"¢s workout due to "personal problems," according to defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham.
