Day 3 rookie report
Add DeAndre Levy to the injury list. He was mostly a bystander for today's final morning workout. Zach Follett took over the duties at MLB, while Levy was limited with what coach Jim Schwartz said was a tight groin.
Add him to Lydon Murtha (back) and Brandon Pettigrew (hamstring) and it was a battle of attrition here this weekend. But that was to be expected, Schwartz said, with all these rookies coming in after several weeks away from real football workouts. The team held guys out more as a precautionary reason to avoid any lingering issues when the rookies report back for full-team drills May 18.
More later, but Matthew Stafford looked pretty good again today and Louis Delmas looked even better. In fact, after ending Saturday's practice with an interception against QB Justin Goltz in 7-on-7 drills, Delmas finally picked off Stafford near the end of practice today. And he let him hear about it. He doesn't lack for talent or confidence, and that hasn't gone unnoticed by the coaches.
