Lions add LB Gatewood
The Lions added a linebacker to their roster Thursday. But it's not the one the fans are clamoring for in Wake Forest's Aaron Curry.
The Lions claimed outside linebacker Curtis Gatewood off waivers after he was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound outside linebacker played in six games for the Chiefs last season as a rookie out of Vanderbilt. His defensive coordinator in Kansas City, Gunther Cunningham, is the new Lions' defensive coordinator.
Curry, by the way, is in New York with the 12-year-old leukemia patient he invited to join him and his family for the draft weekend. You can track his weekend on his Facebook fan page.
