WR Washington coming for a visit

With the NFL's free-agent signing period kicking off in less than an hour, the Lions already have one player targeted.

Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Nate Washington is expected to pay a visit to Allen Park this weekend, according to a league source, and it appears the Lions could be his first destination. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings are two other possbilities for Washington, arguably the best young receiver on the free-agent market. The 25-year-old Toledo native had a career-best 40 catches last season for 631 yards and three touchdowns. But Washington is looking for a bigger role after spending the last three seasons as the No. 3 receiver behind Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes in Pittsburgh.
