With a white blanet laid out at the corner of Chester and Woodward Avenue -- just feet from the popular Shell Gas Station -- the Gonzalez family of Pontiac has probably one of the best spots to watch the cruise along Royal Oak.
Surrounded by rows of classic cars parked all around her 1992 Saturn, Mom Tina and daughter Xena, 13 and Sheena, 8, sat with puppy Jayda watching cars rolling up and down the road.
Tina says she builds hot rods for a living and came down to watch the cars on a beautiful day.
"It could be raining," Tina said.
One of the car owners behind the family was Steve Roth who was toiling over his beautiful red convertible 1962 Rambler American. The Farmington Hills man bought the unique car seven years ago and has more than 100 trophies for the car.
Roth was wiping a glaze across the hood of the car around 11 a.m. as the sun bore down on him and his prized possession.
Roth said today he will be doing a little bit of sitting and little bit of cruising.
"Once it gets hotter I will grab my spot in the shade," Roth said pointing to his chair under a tree.

Dream Cruise
Can anyone help me find out if there is an area on Saturday where old vintage British cars would be on display along Woodward?
