I never cared much for "American Idol", in general and Simon, in particular, but I can't figure out for the life of me why they picked DeGeneres who is not even a singer!

Idol needs a revamp and DeGeneres is not the answer.....Being able to vote umpteen times only has made it a popularity contest....call in votes should ony count as part of the process.....Singers should have 2 or 3 catagories to choose there songs from each week. Heck Frank Sinatra wouldn't sound good doing Rock or Heavy metal.....They need another hottie like Underwood to offset all the ordinary guys of the past few years.....Lambert was obviously a great singer but the rest have been ordinary at best......Show may tell you it's going great with so many votes but to me it's gotten a little stale lately......Also getting tired of Jackson's "dog" deal all the time......Ellen's not the answer but thank god it wasn't Rosie O'Donnell.

I don't dislike Ellen DeGeneres, I simply don't find her very funny. She seems like a nice person and it's refreshing to see a celebrity of her caliber not be surrounded by scandal after scandal. As for her being a judge of a singing competition, I just don't see the connection. Perhaps as a guest judge, but for the entire season? Doesn't work for me.

I won't be able to watch too much of this show now. I did like watching at the begging of the try-outs just to see the fools make bigger fools of themselves and it made me laugh at times. Ellen does not make me laugh and she will probably drive me away from the watching the show. I don't need to be entertained that much to put up with her stupidity.
That's too bad about the choice made here ... this may be the last season for this show as it spirals downward.

Please allow me to comment on this even though I don't watch that trainwreck of a show. The silly show is fixed and scripted and not worth my time. But I must comment on Ellen DeGeneres. She is obnoxious and one of the unfunniest women I have ever seen. She must have made a pact with the Satan to be making the kind of obscene money she does.

To me, it doesn't matter who they replace Paula with. I've always thought the show was stupid, the people were weird, the results somewhat fixed, and the panel a bunch of bumbling fools (except Randy). Paula always looked totally wasted on pain killers and Simon always had something sarcastic to say about someone.
I am not a fan of Ellen, never was never will be. Not sure what her panel qualifications are, but don't care either. I just don't get all wrapped up in this show.

Kudos to you. It is a rare individual who admits he is wrong. And an even bigger man to post documentation PROVING they are wrong. Most would simply attack the person(r4u2) who proved them wrong. Again - kudos to you.
Adam vs. Chris
You know sometimes less is more. The dead giveaway for me that Chris would win was when Danny Gokey left. Ask yourself who was Danny's core group of voters going to choose? Advantage Chris. Adam's a very talented guy and was as gracious in defeat as he was all along the ride there. Very enjoyable year for Idol.
