Pugh unlikely to lead chorus of "Onward Christian Soliders"

Council President-Elect Charles Pugh made the media rounds today and broke news that may break hearts of smug suburbanites: The City Council will no longer be a source for Grade A, unintentionally hilarious comedy.

Speaking to WCSX FM-94.7 after barely an hour's sleep, Pugh said he's elated to be part of a "revolution" of change on the council. But he cautioned that fans of "Onward Christian Soldiers" and "Shrek" might want to look elsewhere.

"We had our fill," of entertainment, Pugh said. "There were folks on that council who gave us enough entertainment to last a lifetime. We can always go watch it on YouTube."

Pugh also addressed his foreclosure, plans to rehabilitate the city's image and pleasure at not having to work with former Councilwoman Monica Conyers. Check out the interview here.

And check out outgoing Councilwoman Barbara-Rose Collins' dulcet pipes here:

No more Jokes? No more Self-Interest from City Council!

As we all know the City of Detroit has always suffered from high un-employment. Even when Michigan rebound in bringing in their recovery efforts to produce jobs Detroit is still going to suffer high un-employment.

As a Community Organizer I have created the perfect plan for the City of Detroit and officilly submitted it to the current City Council. I believe the council dispised against my plan in the name of jealousy.

What do you think?

On July 23, 2008 I was granted presentation by the City Council to un-veil my plan for the City of Detroit to create it's very own City Wide Self-Employment Agency. This agency will register all citizens wishing to offer a paid service to both businesses and individuals as Independent Contractors.

The City of Detroit will also register the buisinesses or individuals wishing to hire them. This plan would operate much in the same manner as the Michigan Works!, Talent Bank only this plan will accommodate the Self-Employed Independent Contractor. Persons would be able to offer any skilled or un-skilled service legal in Michigan.

This plan has the potential to eradicate the unemployment crisis and could be enacted right now! The Current City Council have failed to look past their own self-interested selves to act in the best interest of the City of Detroit. The council is dispising against my proposal because its too good and they themselves have not thought of it.

I will personally make sure that the next administration deal appropriately with this business proposal idea that offers a solution to the un-employment crisis. The City Charter grants the citizens the right to create the laws in the city too! I hope that the next administration would not deny the citizens this right.

It is clearly jealousy. We have had enough of the jokes and the self-interested behavior. Will you help by commenting and encouraging news writers to cover this story.

Thank You!
