Space Exploration
Ms. Lograsso,
It's one thing to tuck your head in the hole that you've dug, but it's another to simply dismiss (as Rep. Tancredo did) the ability of technology to improve the economics of a nation. Without the space program, the technological advancement of our nation would not have birthed Intel, Microsoft, or Apple. IBM would not have created the revolution that the entire world embraced.
For the percentage of expenditure for an event that the entire American population stopped what they were doing to watch in 1969, I have to say, let's do it again. Forward-looking, and fiscally responsible. MSU journalism students are impressive. Cheers, Mako out.
eseales comments
I happen to agree with eseales. I went to a school for journalism in Oklahoma that deducted 50 points for a typographical error and 100 points for a factual error. I know some things make it through the cracks, but responsibility is important in the media to say the right thing, and make sure it's proper and right.
I like what I'm hearing from MSU, regardless!
Waterboarding
Dmarco,
Is it really the issue of waterboarding, or is it more about the fact that citizens have no clue what is going on with their own government? Waterboarding is used as a training tool for certain (note certain) volunteers in the military, not all of them. In fact, to assert that all US Soldiers somehow go through waterboarding training or are submitted to that is wrong.
Maybe you can make that argument to Hell Week participants. Enjoy the debate, and welcome to the cold world of politics, where capital letters usually indicate a poor position. Cheers, Mako out.
KEYES??
Seriously, it's a wonder that Alan Keyes would actually not settle in a state where the GOP feels weak in trying to convince others that anyone of different color wants inherently to be in the GOP. Getting spanked in Illinois was the first sign that the secret weapon of the GOP (Alan Keyes) was ineffective. So now, as you can see, they concentrate on a different ethinc group. I hope everyone on the MSU blog will construct arguments that are not polarized. Cheers, Mako out.
WTG Bonnie!
I have to say, the combination of MSU and video most likely results in direct Bonnie influence. Way to Go, Bonnie, this debate should be a good spot to work with the young un's and their wide-open view on politics. Cheers, Mako out.
