windmills
Windmill power is very unreliable and is a waste of good land that could house or even feed humans. But that is only a secondary concern. That $1.9 Million is coming out of the pockets of taxpayers. The government has no right to take it from them in the first place. The government's only proper function is to protect citizens' individual rights by holding a legal monopoly on the retaliatory use of force. Under no circumstances should it be allowed to employ the initiatory use of force.
Yet Senators Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin are running amok with their desire to initiate force (taking our $1.9 million) to nudge, cajole, and otherwise make an offer they can't refuse, the large energy companies to do their bidding and give us the kind of energy they-the Senators-want us to use.
In a free country, people would be free to contract with any energy company they want. This is not a goal of Michigan's two Senators.
