Enter the 'Window Makeovers' magazine giveaway

Spring is just around the corner and if you're planning to update or add a bit of drama to your window treatments you're sure to be inspired by the current issue of "Window Makeovers" from the publishers of "Threads" and "Inspired House."

Along with 15 do-it-yourself projects, the magazine/guide covers things like how to "sew your own curtains," "pick perfect fabrics," "take the right measurements" and "embellish with tassels, trims and tiebacks."

If you'd like a chance at winning a copy of the magazine, just email me at jbrown@detnews.com and tell me something about your window treatments and/or sewing projects. Please put the word "window" in the subject line, and remember to include your name and address.

Good Luck!!!

Face of Hope

Ms. Brown,

Your Face of Hope is very nice and framed beautifully.

To incorporate the the frame, which your late mother helped you to pick, with the intricate rendering of our first black president, is truly special.

Have you considered doing another one and sending it to the President? I bet he and his family would welcome such a gift that could be prominently displayed! And to know that your mother did not live to see this time in history, like his mother, grandmother and father, would probably be a story he'd love to tell about the Face of Hope. Just a thought...

Thanks for sharing this and so many other projects with your readers.

Priscilla Phifer
