Polanski

In the book, Justice Denied - What America Must Do to Protect Its Children, by Marci Hamilton, the author states that whether or not you are a survivor of sexual abuse, the effects are felt by all in the lost output of survivors and

the mammoth costs of treating the physical and psychological

injuries of those who have been abused and who may be trying to climb out of the dark. I personally believe that there is a special place in hell reserved for perpetrators who physically or sexually abuse a vulnerable child. It is beyond comprehension that there are some who would seek to minimize the actions of this predator.

Polanski

Bullard says "no credible purpose".... stunning. The guy was a middle-aged man who coerced a young teen with alcohol and drugs, then rapes her. He cops a plea of guilty, then flees the country before sentencing. People like Bullard make me sick to my stomach, as our rule of law becomes increasing ignored. I would imagine Bullard's view would differ if he had a 13 year old daughter. This guy should be writing for msnbc.

Shame on you Bullard for trivializing the rape of a 13 year old girl. It is attitudes like yours that feed the open season of violence against woman. Dont you read the paper? Everyday a woman is raped, torchured, and killed with little fan fare from the press. they mention it one day and then it is off the radar screen. There are few woman I have met that have not been sexualy assaulted in their life at some time. Polanski has no exuse not to pay for his crime. He raped her and then fled. Two crimes. You are wrong, Polanski should pay for his crim. Could it be you empathize with him? Maybe you wish you could have gotten away with the same crime.

Threading in forums

We are working on adding threading to the forums. Clicking on the headline of a post will now get you related posts in a few different ways.

- If the post was sent to us in response to an article, clicking on that post's headline will retrieve all comments on that article, and clicking on the "See related article" link will send you to the article itself.

- If the comment was submitted in response to a cybersurvey, clicking on the headline will take you to the cybersurvey and its related comments.

- If you click on the headline of a forum post that was simply posted in the forum, you will get all posts with that same headline.

If you want to add a comment to a thread in the forum, use the same headline as the post to which you want to respond.

If you find a problem, please tell us, and thanks in advance for your patience as we work to improve the forums for you.
