Halftime: Minn 21, MSU 10

Pretty nasty first half for the Spartans. The defense gives up a score during the first 20 seconds. Edwin Baker fumbles and that turnover leads to a quick 14-0 deficit. Kirk Cousins tossed an acrobatic 26-yard touchdown pass to Brian Linthicum under pressure, but later throws at interception at the Minnesota 46. Brett Swenson added a 20-yard field goal.

Give Gophers quarterback Adam Weber credit. He hasn't had the greatest season, but is looking strong with three first half touchdown passes. No bad for a guy that threw 11 picks for the season going into this game.

I still have no idea why Mark Dantonio decided to go with Keith Nichol over Cousins for a series late in the second quarter. Not sure what's going on with this team offensively. Running game hasn't been productive at all.

This is still a manageable deficit to work with. Not sure if the defense can generate turnovers. That's been a weakness all season.
