German luxury carmaker BMW has unveiled pictures and details of its new 5 Series sedan, which goes on sale around the world next Spring.
The new 5 Series will sport an eight speed automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual. The automatic version will have stop-start technology to save fuel.
In Europe, the cheapest 5 Series will be powered by a two litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. The range topping 550i has a 407 hp 4.4 litre V8 engine. Prices in the U.S. have yet to be announced.
For the first time, BMW is likely to offer a four-cylinder engine in the U.S. for better fuel economy.
