It seems Microsoft isn't the only company Google is defying.

Torchwood
I decided to watch BBC America's release of Torchwood S3 and I was not disappointed. Kept me riveted for all 5 eps! I never watched it before as I was not too thrilled with the Captain's roles in Doctor Who, and expected a typical spin-off. Even now, unsure if to take the time to watch seasons 1-2, but S3 sure was good. I was quite surprised at how different and sometimes ruthless Captain Jack can be compared to the 'Doctor,' and how this show is not afraid to write off important characters, unlike the Doctor who usually ends up saving his companions. As for Merlin, I saw the first 2 eps and it was not what I expected. I won't be keeping up with that one.
Live Action
wow, lots of live action films. What I'll be interested in seeing is the live action version of Ghost in the Shell. I believe Dreamworks already acquired the rights from I.G. and it's to be directed by Spielberg. Not gonna be out for a few years but I would expect to see some awesome special effects.
Captain Tylor
Sweetness! This is one that's highly recommendable, and really includes just about everything that makes anime great. Think of it as across between Star Trek and McHale's Navy. Yes, it's that cracked in the head.
The Slayers
Someday, I like to see a live version of The Slayers.
Ouran High School Host Club
I recently completed watching these DVDs. I must say I agree that it had a good run. However, I preferred the second half as there was a lot more character deveopment and story. Again, good sound track and the dub cast was decent.
Afro Samurai Resurrection
As a fan of Afro Samurai, I had to see this. Spike TV aired it already and the full video is currently available streaming on their website. As before, nice animation and BGM, but I preferred the prequel esp it's plot.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
First of all I hope all of you had a good holidays and a good start to the New Year.
I just saw the first 1/2 of this series. I agree the voices are very 'sweet.' However, I'm not a big fan of the magical-girl genre. It somewhat reminded me of Card Captor Sakura. Characters are drawn to be cute, animation is fluid, and has a typical linear story line. I think fans of this genre will love it, others will find it average.
Beebop
I like Ron Perlman as Jett. not sure about other characters.
I could totally see -- and especially hear -- him as Jett. Good choice.

DB & Black Blood Bros
I did enjoy Black Blood Bros. It's only 12 eps and they're all out on DVD. The story does pick up and it's set up to warrant another season.
I was just about to ask if you had any info on the new live-action DB movie! I'm interested in seeing how they'll portray the SSJ transformation and any cheezy special fx. I doubt it can live up to it's anime counterpart, but nevertheless, I'll be sure to watch it. (and Piccolo's not green.....?)

Code Geass
Eric, were you able to review Code Geass? It's a very cool series from Sunrise, so also got mechas and more. Starts off with an interesting plot centered around the main character, Le Louch, who is a genius once-prince of the former independent Japan, who gains a power called a 'Geass.' He is now able to control the actions of one individual once, and forms elaborate plans to try and liberate Japan from 'Britannia.' I think the first 1 or 2 DVDs were released. Nice fluid animation & action, sound not the greatest but does a decent job and the english dubs were kinda ok. The strength is that the story appears to have good interesting development.
It's on my pile, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. The first two discs are out. I hope to get to it this week, but who knows?
Gurren Lagann
I've been waiting for this to be released. Hopefully the dub does a good job. It's really a fun and action filled show. I hear that Season 2 is also upcoming!
Youmacon
Thanks for the reminder. We were able to pre-register just in time. Look forward to going to this con in it's new location.
